For anyone who hasn’t read the Part II of this series:
Let’s begin!
Our Metastrike Game Modes guide contains a breakdown of every game mode in the game, including Deathmatch, Team Deathmatch, Conquest, CFT, Kill confirmed, and Rush.
When you’re new to Metastrike it’s very easy to become overwhelmed by the choice of game modes.
Where’s the best place to start? There are a lot of things to consider before jumping in and trying to find a mode that suits you best. Whether you’re only interested in the Conquest tactics side of things or looking for a less stressful mode focused on just having fun, we’ve covered every available mode in Metastrike (currently in Open Alpha Version).
1. Deathmatch
Introduce
Deathmatch will likely be one of the first modes that you jump into upon Metastrike. Facilitating many players on a map and giving everyone the freedom to choose any weapons, is a great way to familiarise yourself with the weapons in the game.
Gameplay
Deathmatch doesn’t require players to choose either T or CT side (Currently, you only can pick the Counter-Terrorist side in the Open Alpha version). However, once you’ve settled on a weapon, you’re free to hunt down those others and try your best to make it to the top of the leaderboard before the round has ended.
Similar to other modes, eliminating enemies will secure you points, whoever eliminates each other to a max of 15 kills for an unlimited period of time will win the match.
With quick random respawns after you die, this mode is fast-paced and competitive, making it the perfect mode to jump into if you fancy a quick game without any lengthy ties. In addition to using dedicated training maps in order to improve, consider warming up before a Conquest match by hopping into a round of Deathmatch.
2. Team Deathmatch
Introduce
Team Deathmatch matches are very similar to Deathmatch matches with a few alterations. The team side is needed, Deathmatch requires players to pick one T or CT side per side.
Gameplay
The minor differences include you will have to eliminate players from the opposite team as soon as possible, and the team that reaches the 30 kills first will win the match. Also, friendly fire can be turned on or off.
To emphasize the fact that this mode is more balance in the future, we will add the spectate mechanism for players, so that they can be able to spectate the game after they die (after the Open Alpha version will deploy). This includes being able to watch the enemy team as well as their own from both the first and third-person perspective.
For your information, Team Deathmatch matches are the most loved game mode in the Open Alpha Event. This makes playing Team Deathmatch games much more useful for practicing with your friends or your teammates. That being said, Deathmatch is no replacement for Team Deathmatch. For warming up before more competitive matches, consider playing Deathmatch or Team Deathmatch instead as the fast-paced nature of that mode should help with your aim and reactions.
3. Conquest
Introduce
Besides Team Deathmatch, Metastrike is probably best known for Conquest. In Conquest, there are three designated areas on the map that two teams will both attempt to capture and control in the same style as King of the Hill.
Gameplay
After a specific point is captured, which is done by standing inside of it uncontested for a short time, that zone will begin rewarding that team one point for every second it remains under their control. You do not need to remain inside the zone once it’s captured to continue gaining points, but if the other team enters the zone, they will begin capturing it for their team.
The more zones a single team controls, the more points per second they earn, but it also becomes harder to protect them all. Once one team reaches 300 points, they are the winners.
4. CTF (Capture the Flag)
Introduce
Capture the Flag, while by no means the only FPS to include this simple yet intense objective mode. It fits the Metastrike formula quite well since the time to kill is a bit longer than most other game modes in Metastrike, letting the matches feel fairer to people who are carrying the flag.
Gameplay
This simple concept of bringing a flag from one place to another has surprising other players that completely change how you approach the game.
First, as always, we start with the base of two teams in the Flag mode. There’s only one flag this time around, but instead of belonging to either team, it is a neutral flag that spawns near the middle of the map.
Here, two teams of five go head to head in trying to capture the other team’s flag by grabbing it, running it across the map, and bringing it to your own flag location. At the same time, the other team is also trying to do the same to your flag, forcing both teams to play offense and defense simultaneously because you cannot score the enemy team’s flag if your own flag is not still at your base. The first team to capture three flags is declared the winner, or whichever team scores the most flags within the 12-minute time limit.
5. Rush
Introduce
Rush is easily one of the least popular modes in Metastrike, although that doesn’t mean that you should write it off entirely because of its heavy tactical nature.
Gameplay
Serving as a bomb defusal scenario. With this game mode, players on both sides will have to place bombs in 2 locations on the map, if those 2 bombs are both exploded by one team (CT-side or T-side), that side will win the game. if during the time the bomb explodes, and the player on the opposite team breaks the bomb, the game will continue.
While other modes like Deathmatch and Kill confirmed give players a chance to get used to Metastrike with the freestyle tactics. While Rush mode offers a nice challenge on top of the common bomb defusal scenario, this isn’t a particularly beneficial mode for training purposes.
6. Kill confirmed
Introduce
Kill confirmed modes is very similar to Team Deathmatch matches with a few alterations. The team side is needed, Deathmatch requires players to pick one T or CT side per side.
Gameplay
Eliminating enemies won’t secure your points in this mode, instead, 2 sides need to collect name tags to secure points, your team also can save your name tags while you are eliminated by collecting them. In the end, the team who collects a max of 20 points for a small period of time will win the match.
Unlike other team modes, you’ve got no one to watch your back. But this mode is much more hectic and needs teamwork than other team-focused modes and would be a great choice for anyone who wants to have a team to party up with.
We will always listen and launch new game modes for you, Zombie mode is one of them. Stay tuned and follow our channels for more details in the future
